OUR STORY
Three Generations of welding
At Whispering River we come from three generations of experience. It all started with Clarence who went to work as a labourer on the pipeline. He worked his way up to becoming a welder after spending time as a welders helper. His reputation and legend grew and people still talk about his calm nature while doing hot taps on natural gas pipelines and his creativity and ingenuity in solving problems with his creations.

Two of Clarences sons followed him into the welding trade and had very successful careers. They continued the reputation of solving complex welding issues and taking on jobs that were thought to be beyond repair. Following the two sons three of Clarences grandsons became welders.

This is where my story in welding starts. I first attended welding school in 1997 and have been working in the trade ever since. I have worked all over western Canada on numerous large projects, most recently the Kitimat LNG project where I was involved in the welding department looking after the pressure welders. My first company was welding in the oil and gas industry with my welding rig, I really enjoyed the experience.

The idea for the Whispering River came from combining my welding experience with my hobbies. I was building items for myself and decided to start sharing them. Every item we sell I first built for myself. I feel this approach makes our products standout. I am not building products to maximize profits, I build them how I want them to work and last. The first thing is how well they function and the quality.
